GARLIC SCAPES

Same taste as traditional garlic cloves but perhaps a hint of sweetness can be detected by some.  Ideal as a substitute for garlic cloves.  Can be used in stir frys, grilled whole, in soups or as a soup, pesto.  Cut in desired lenght/s and freeze for year-around use, dehydrate etc.

MINT

  • After Eight Mint: distinctive flavour, is most especially useful in drinks and desserts. From the most simple — a crushed sprig to enhance a glass of iced water — to special baking and desserts, 'After Eight' mint has many great uses. Try some quick and easy minty flavoured biscuits.


  • Apple Mint: often used to flavor teas, iced teas, and other beverages. In sauces and marinades: Apple mint can be used to add flavor to sauces, marinades, and other culinary preparations. In desserts: Apple mint can be used to flavor ice creams, sorbets, and other desserts.


  • Banana Mint: Add to iced summer drinks and milk shakes. Use as a garnish to puddings and desserts. Add finely chopped leaves to salads for a lovely zesty flavour. The blossoms and the finely sliced leaves make an unusual addition to fresh fruit salads. 


  • Ginger Mint: Leaves can be added to fruit salads and pair very well with melons or tomatoes. They can also be used to brew herbal teas, which can treat fevers, headaches, and digestive ailments (1). Finely chopped leaves make a great addition to butter spreads, lemonade, and hot chocolate.


  • Indian Mint: The leaves also have a lemony taste and can be used raw as well as boiled. They are delicious as an aromatic herb for salads and meat dishes, as tea, syrup, or also for flavouring lemonades. The tea is said to have healing powers.


  • Mojito Mint: flavor teas, lemonades, and other drinks. Sauces and marinades: The strong, aromatic flavor makes it a popular ingredient in sauces, marinades, and dressings.

  • Strawberry Mint: Excellent for making tea, drinks, iced tea, mint sauce and it can be added to fruity salads. The flowers are edible.

SUMMER SAVORY

  • Summer savory can be used as an alternative to thyme in many recipes. You can use it in a range of recipes, including savory pies, stews, stuffings, dressings, marinades and sauces. It can be added to bean, rice, meat and vegetable dishes toward the end of cooking time for a burst of flavor as well.
